What do you like to do for fun in your free time? When I’m out of office, you can find me exploring the public lands across northern Michigan, working out at the YMCA, paddle boarding with my dog, or hanging out downtown Traverse City…P.S. I want to learn how to kite board on the Great Lakes if you have any pointers!

What is something unique that you love about living in the Traverse City area? In addition to the stunning natural beauty, there is a unique entrepreneurial and collaborative spirit that lives here. What is your best advice for those interested in moving to Traverse City? When talking with my teen daughter about her stress in identifying, “What I want to be when I grow up?”, I asked her to forget that question and instead ask herself, “What do I want my surrounding and lifestyle to look like?” Likewise, when considering a move to our area consider what the lifestyle will be. Any location you choose to live in has its own set of challenges, but if your passions and hobbies are met (skiing, hiking, swimming in freshwater, escaping big city life, etc.) then tackling these challenges is worth every second.”
